John Banovich
Although John Banovich has
been an artist most of his life, he exhibited at his first major wildlife
art show in September, 1993, where he was promptly awarded Best of Show.
Quite suddenly, the world discovered him at the Pacific Rim Wildlife Art
Show in Tacoma, where he followed with a Best of Show in 1994. In 1995
he was the show's featured artist, and one of its top sellers. Since then,
he has been featured artist at the Houston Safari Club Show and Auction,
and guest artist for the 1997 Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston
and the 1996 Wonders of Nature Exhibit in Hong Kong. One of his paintings
was juried into the 1996 Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum's exhibit, "Wildlife:
The Artist's view."
Although he paints the
wildlife of his native Montana with consummate skill, his first love is
rendering African animals in oil and acrylic. He has perfected his photography
during his research trips to four different African countries and now shoots
all of his own source. Since it was published in limited edition, "The
Patriarch" has appeared in numerous wildlife magazines. He has been Profiled
in Wildlife Art, Sporting Classics, U.S. Art and Inform Art magazines.
