Burns Painting Fetches Big Bucks for Humane Society
CANOGA PARK, Calif. - Ron Burns, the official
artist-in-residence of the Humane Society of the United States, donated
one of his paintings to the group's Evening of Elegance fundraiser
held recently in Washington, D.C.
The painting, entitled
"The Distinguished Gentledog from Arizona," was part of a silent auction
and was purchased by Larry Hawk, President and C.E.O of The American
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Burns also
introduced a limited-edition print of the painting and will donate 25 percent
of the proceeds from their sale to HSUS.
Burns finds inspiration
for his paintings by visiting animal shelters around the United States.
He donates a portion of proceeds from his paintings back to these organizations.
Burns is represented by Art Impressions Inc. of Canoga Park, Calif.
