| Matthew Hillier's love for his subjects
is evident in his work. He will, as he says, "paint anything that moves."
Hillier's extraordinary paintings offer both a unique vantage point and
reveal the personalities of his subjects. Now living in the U.S., Hillier
was born in Buckinghamshire, England, growing up near Windsor Castle. He
studied at Dyfed College of Art in West Wales, graduating with distinction.
Traveling widely in search of subjects to study and paint, Hillier loves
the big cats and rhinos and finds himself drawn to water birds. A member
of the Society of Animal Artists, he received their Award of
Excellence in both 1997 and 1998. His work has also been included in
LYWAM's
touring
"Birds in Art" show. Hillier has had one-man exhibitions throughout Great
Britain and has illustrated several books. In 1995, he won the World
Wildlife Fund's Fine Art Award.
