"Sicamous Station "Edition Qty. 95 A/P 10 Canvas
The Hotel Sicamous (including station) opened in 1900. Just west of Sicamous Narrows Bridge on the edge of Shuswap Lake, this building stood until demolished in 1964. It had originally been built to provide dining facilities during a period when locomotives lacked sufficient power to haul dining cars through the mountains, but continued in use as a popular resort until 1956. On this mid-winter morning, Train #6 arrives on its over-night journey from Vancouver behind Royal Hudson 2862. In a few minutes it will take over the train for the Rockies crossing to Calgary.
