"Columbia River Bridge No.3, Revelstoke "Edition Qty. 450 A/P 45 Sold out at Publisher. Price subject to availability. This seemed an appropriate title as it was the third bridge built at this location and also the third painting Max did of this span. It was completed in 1907 and replaced in 1968 by the present day bridge which lies slightly upstream from this. A bird's eye view was chosen to feature the surface of the river. An unusual feature of this bridge was the "gauntlet track". Double tracked sections at either end were partially merged or overlapped on the bridge deck, which was too narrow to accommodate both tracks side by side. While the bridge is no more, both locomotives have survived. engine 5468 is a P2H "Mikado", built 1948, now housed in Revelstoke's new Railway Museum building. No. 2860, ex-CPR "Royal Hudson", built 1940, still regularly hauls a tourist train from North Vancouver to Squamish four months each year.
