| A member of the National Watercolor
Society, Jean Monti graduated from The Rhode Island School of Design
with
a B.F.A. and began a successful freelance career. Since she dedicated her
career to fine art, children, their toys and pets are the subjects that
she loves to paint most, often using her own two children as models. Beginning
with a pencil sketch, Monti paints with acrylics, building with transparent
washes. Using light to create a mood of serenity, her subjects appear in
warm and inviting settings, surrounded by rich textures, and and radiate
a sense of joy and angelic innocence. In all of her paintings, many of
which belong to private collectors, Monti seeks to evoke an emotional response.
She says of her art, "My mission is to share my work - to have people see
it and to make them feel great."
