Trisha Romance
|
Trisha Romance has won
the 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998 Canadian Artist of the Year Award. The popularity
of this artist and her works continues to grow as collectors around the
world discover the magic and serenity of Romance.
The
award winning Romance has been painting for over 20 years and is now one
of the most successful contemporary artists on the market . Her images
have been chosen for everything from the front cover of the Sears catalogue
to a painting of Mother Teresa for the Catholic School Board. While her
original paintings have sold for thousands of dollars at a time, the original
of her most recently published painting The Conservatory, is on display
at the Preservation Gallery, where it is currently for sale for $45, 000.00.
Six of Trisha's images
have now been transformed into a line of collector plates. Several more
have been made into three-dimensional figurines. Without looking too deeply
into these processes, one might think that because the image has been created
and already exists as a painting, not much more could possibly be involved
in transferring it to a plate or figurine. This is not the case. Take a
look at the borders on each of her plates. The added detail of a pair of
skates, a rose, star, or an angel are all artistic complements that had
to be thought of first, then designed to flatter the feeling , emotion, and
even the sentiment behind the original painting itself. Even more detail
is required to create a three-dimensional figurine, so that from all angles,
no two-dimensional attributes can be seen.
Along with her paintings,
figurines, collector plates, vignettes, porcelain dolls, and Christmas
ornaments, will be a new Lilliput Lane miniature of the Preservation
Gallery ,entitled "Victorian Romance." As for Trisha Romance herself, as
long as the popularity of her paintings continues to grow, there will always
be....a little Romance in all our lives.
