"Throughout the ages, the majority of man has always desired and sought
after peace. Edith Louisa Cavell was both a peacemaker and a peace seeker.
Working as a nurse during the first world war, Edith assisted many allied
prisoners in their escape from the German forces and as a result of her
mission, she was later martyred. Somewhere in the midst of war-torn Europe,
one lady dared to seek peace and even though her efforts were eliminated
back then, today in the heart of the Rockies there remains a monument to
her name. Situated at the entrance of a valley, Mt. Edith Cavell is a solitary
mountain that reaches for the sky to a height of 3,363 meters. In the midst
of the rugged Rocky Mountains, she stands as a symbol of peace to all who
visit her."
